Publised date : 27 Apr 2018

Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has joined with the MS Society to promote multiple sclerosis (MS) Awareness Week, which runs from the 23-29th April.

As part of their efforts to raise awareness of MS, the MS Society have launched the ‘Kiss Goodbye to MS’ campaign. The initiative encourages participants to give up their guilty pleasure for the month of May in order to raise funds for MS research.

Commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“I am delighted to lend my support to the ‘Kiss Goodbye to MS’ campaign. I have been a long-term backer of the MS Society and I pay tribute to the outstanding contribution they make in the battle against this disease.

“I would encourage people across the nation to learn more about this disease and to consider taking part in the ‘Kiss Goodbye to MS’ campaign.”

MS affects over 11,000 in Scotland and can impact on an individual’s ability to walk, see, feel, think and move.  Those taking part in the campaign can document their fundraising efforts on social media using the hashtag #KissGoodbyetoMS.
