Press Release

Swinney to visit Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance

Publised date : 01 Jun 2018

Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, will this week visit Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) organisation.

The visit, which will take place at Perth Airport, will honour the near 100 volunteers of Scotland’s only air ambulance charity.

In addition to meeting volunteers and David Craig, SCAA’s Chief Executive, Mr Swinney will speak at the event and present certificates to those in attendance.

Commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“As a long-term supporter of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, I was delighted to be invited along to meet its volunteers.

“The service provided by SCAA is of paramount importance, and I pay tribute to the extraordinary work of their heroic volunteers.

“National Volunteers’ Week offers us all an opportunity to recognise the dedication of those who choose to give their time and energy to others. It is only right that we celebrate their hard work, and let volunteers across Scotland know how valued they are.”

SCAA Chief Executive David Craig added:

"We have over 80 active volunteers who give thousands of hours each year to help SCAA not only run efficiently and effectively but also to secure a wider public profile through events and presentations.

"We are grateful that Mr Swinney recognises the worth of this unsung band of heroes and has joined us to mark the start of National Volunteer Week and thank those involved with our life-saving service."
